Buffalo shooter indicted by grand jury for murder as a hate crime

BUFFALO, New York (KYMA, KECY) - A grand jury indicted the suspected shooter in last month's deadly grocery store shooting in Buffalo, New York.

The jury returned a 25 count indictment against Payton Gendron Wednesday.

According to court documents, Gendron is facing 10 counts of first-degree murder, 10 counts of second-degree murder as a hate crime and three counts of attempted murder as a hate crime.

He also has a domestic terror charge and a weapons charge.

Authorities say Gendron opened fire inside of tops friendly market on May 14, shooting 13 people.

10 were killed.
