Dog ran away from Yuma home

YUMA. Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT).  For most people their pets are more than just a an animal; they’re a member of the family.  So, when Airmen Elizabeth Starnegg received word that her husky “Sokka” ran away from a dog sitter in Yuma, Starnegg was devastated.

But, the story was far from over it seemed that Sokka was found by a neighbor wandering around. The man, took the dog in where it stayed for some time. Sadly, Sokka developed a skin condition and needed special care; care not found in Yuma.

Sokka then was then taken to a husky refuge in Phoenix where it received care for its skin condition. Once the dog's skin was clear enough, they found the animal’s microchip and scanned it. Soon after, Elizabeth was contacted and after two years they were reunited. Elizabeth hopes that this story encourages people who find lost animals to check for microchips and for those with furry relatives, they may want to look into getting them chipped, because you never know.
