Ativo Senior Living of Yuma hosts vaccine clinic

News 11 reporter Melissa Zaremba has the details on how more locals in the Foothills can have another place to get their COVID booster

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - Ativo Senior Living hosted a COVID-19 vaccine clinic to make it easier for seniors to get their COVID vaccine.

Ativo Senior Living of Yuma held a COVID clinic to invite more seniors to get their COVID booster.

“We just wanted to provide this to the community because we were just trying to provide this to our residents as well. Seniors are very high risk for COVID and it’s really important they have access to the vaccine,” said Sales and Marketing Director of Ativo Senior Living Katherine Odonald.

Ativo says seniors will now have a closer location to get their booster shot.

“There’s a lot of seniors who struggle with driving and with isolation and so it was really important that we had one in the Foothills specifically for the Foothills community,” said Odonald.

With the help of public health services, Ativo Senior Living is able to offer first and second doses of the COVID vaccines.

“It’s wonderful, it’s super wonderful to be a part of the community and to help our residents. That is something that is our main purpose is to care for the people who live here and our community abroad. It's such a fulfilled feeling to have such a wonderful purpose,” said Odonald.

Ativo Senior Living is planning to host another public COVID vaccine clinic in the next 6 months.

There are no set dates on when Ativo Senior Living will have its next covid clinic but they will post it on their events page, click here for more details.
