Brandon Mejia joins the news team as the evening anchor for KYMA News 11. You can catch him weeknight at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
This Arizona native was born in Tucson and graduated from the University of Arizona in May of 2017 with a degree in broadcast journalism. During his time at the university, Brandon received the 2017 Excellence in Broadcast Journalism award from the UA School of Journalism. Soon after graduation, he got his start at the local NPR/PBS affiliate in Tucson, where he was introduced to live radio and TV news covering education throughout Southern Arizona.
Even though Brandon considers himself a "news junkie", he also enjoys spending time with family, working out, watching sports, two-stepping and playing cards. Brandon is excited to bring his news coverage to the Desert Southwest and is eager to know what impacts the community the most.
