Aziza Shuler joined KYMA in March 2019 wearing many hats including the newest anchor and producer for FOX 9, as well as a multi-media journalist for KYMA.

As an adolescent growing up in Washington, D.C., several local radio hosts and news anchors inspired Aziza’s passion for journalism. That was when she became enamored with the ability to intimately connect with people through the art of storytelling.

Aziza began her undergraduate education at the University of California Los Angeles. However, in her junior year, she transferred to St. John’s University in New York City where she received her B.S. in Communications.

Aziza has a varied background in news, radio, and sports. She’s interned for CBS Radio, freelanced for the NBA G League, and has even served as an apprentice and executive assistant to ESPN anchor Cari Champion in Los Angeles.

In 2015, Aziza competed in the Miss California USA pageant as the Miss Brentwood, California titleholder. She is a health enthusiast who loves to exercise, try new vegan restaurants, and travel abroad. As a former foster care child, mentorship has played a major role in Aziza’s life. So making a positive influence on her community and the lives of underprivileged youth is very important to her.

Aziza is proud to start a new journey with KYMA and the Yuma community.
