Two men arrested in armed robbery

YUMA, Ariz. – Police say Angel Razo and Andres Aguilar are accused of the robbery that took place just after midnight on Monday. Both men were arrested for this crime.

Officers responded to First Street and 16th Avenue where the victim says they were robbed at gunpoint by two Hispanic men.

The victim says one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and demanded his watch, after being robbed the victim was able to call 911.

Sgt. Lori Franklin with the Yuma Police Department said, “At gun point they robbed the victim of a watch and they asked the victim if he had anything else on him but all he had was a watch.”

YPD located Razo and Aguilar on 16th Avenue and recovered the watch and gun. Both suspects are facing multiple felony charges.

Franklin adds, “They’re charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery.”

Franklin gives some tips on how to protect yourself from potential robbers.

She adds, “If you’re out at night and you’re driving around make sure it’s via walking, biking or driving, try to stay in lit areas. Especially if you’re walking or biking try to stay in well lit road areas or by areas that have good lighting. Try not to be anywhere by yourself. Always travel with a buddy.”
