Subway robber gets 90 days in jail

YUMA, Ariz. – The man who robbed a Subway restaurant in February is sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Ruben Chavez Jr. will be on intensive probation for 48-months following his release from jail. Judge Kenworthy stated during sentencing this morning, “The sentence may seem lenient for such a serious charge, but Chavez has a clean record and a good employment history proving he may have a promising future.”

He is charged with armed robbery after threatening an employee at the Subway restaurant on 15th Street and Avenue B in Yuma.
