U-19 boys soccer team prepping for nationals

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Some of the best prep boys soccer athletes are about to take their act to nationals.

A "Yuma based" club soccer team made up mostly of young men that have recently graduated from high schools across Yuma County have qualified to compete against the nation's best in North Carolina; starting in early July.

The RSL-AZ Yuma 03 Boys Quintana soccer club had recently conquered both state and regional competition in order to advance to the national stage.

The catch is the cost of traveling across the country to compete.

So far, the team has raised close to 10-thousand dollars through sponsorships and fund-raising, with the ultimate goal of reaching the 30-grand amount they'll need to make the trip.

Head Coach Jerry Quintana expresses how everyone at home can help, if interested in donating to their cause.

"We're going to represent Yuma, San Luis, Arizona, because I mean, it's nationals. And I mean, every every little cent helps."
