Tony Warnock is the track operator for the Yuma BMX track, and says he enjoys holding races for children, including his own, at the track on Monday and Wednesday nights.
But after five of their bikes were stolen Monday night, it will be a little more difficult for the kids to get time out on the track.
Warnock says the bikes are worth around a total of $5,000 dollars.
The thieves also vandalized several other pieces of equipment around the track.
"I was shocked that this happened, but people are getting their stuff stolen all over Yuma," says Warnock.
Warnock plans to start keeping anything valuable at the track off the premises once they close up for the night.
The track is sponsored by several local businesses that will help bring the excitement of racing back to the kids.
Warnock is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone who has information that would lead to the bikes whereabouts.
