47-year-old Robert Wade Moore is facing serious charges for his connection to the death of Jose Orejel, who was found shot multiple times at his home on Eleanor Avenue in Yuma Wednesday afternoon.
Along with premeditated first degree murder, Moore could also be facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with intent to cause serious physical injury.
Orejel was listed in critical condition at St. Joseph’s hospital in Phoenix before passing away just before six Friday morning.
According to state prosecutors, the dispute between Moore and Orejel was over 500 dollars that the victim owed Moore.
In court prosecutors said the 47-year-old drove to the victim’s house, where he pulled in his driveway, yelling for Orejel to come outside.
When he opened the door to his residence, prosecutors allege Moore fired off three shots, two of which hit Orejel.
After the shooting, Moore is said to have left a note for a family member leaving all of his possessions to them.
According to prosecutors, the letter read as a suicide note.
Police arrested Moore Thursday afternoon at his residence on Date Avenue, where they confiscated numerous dangerous weapons, including assault rifles.
Despite having no criminal history, the 47-year-old is being held on a one million dollar cash only bond.
