YUMA--Gabriel Macias, 34, has been arrested on allegations of child molestation and furnishing harmful items to minors.
Yuma police have arrested a Somerton teacher, 34-year-old Gabriel Macias, for allegations of child molestation and furnishing harmful items to minors.
At about noon Saturday, police served a search warrant at his home on the 3400 block of S. 9th Ave.
Three male victims, who were between 10 and 13 years old at the time, reported that the incidents occurred between 2003 and 2006 at his home on 9th Ave.
All three victims were Macias’ students when he worked as a 5th grade teacher at Harvest Preparatory Academy in Yuma.
Macias left Harvest Preparatory Academy in 2006 and is currently a 3rd grade teacher at Desert Sonora Elementary in Somerton.
At this point in the investigation, there may be other potential victims, and the investigation is ongoing.
