The Colorado River Tea Party group held a protest in front of the IRS building in Yuma in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service targeted conservative groups.
“We really want to support this nationwide movement to protest what the IRS has been involved in,” says County Supervisor Russ Clark. The I.R.S singling out any political group is outrageous.”
Local tea party members tell News 11 they feel the government is abusing its political power, and want to see those responsible investigated.
“They need to be totally investigated,” says one tea party member. We don’t need the government doing it either, because they are part of the system.”
This is just one of dozens of protests being held across the country by conservative groups.
