It's been a long six weeks for 15-year-old Mystica Bermudez.
Back in March, her mother, 31-year-old Leticia Bermudez parked and walked across the border into San Luis, Mexico to visit a friend. No one has heard from her since.
Bermudez's sister, Teresa Yanez tells News 11 that investigators haven't found anything except the Ford Bronco Bermudez was driving the day she was last seen.
Since her disappearance, Bermudez's mother passed away, challenging the family to keep their heads up.
"It just sunk in how now my grandmother's not around and neither is my mom. So it was really hard."
"She needs her mom," said Yanez about her neice. "I need my sister. There's like a void."
Her family describes Bermudez as a fun and loving mother who was very involved in the lives of her kids.
Mystica says though it has been hard to cope, she is thankful for all the support.
"It feels good to know that everyone supports me and understands what I'm going through, said Mystica, who will be going to her high school prom this weekend.
She says it won't be the same without her mom, who she calls her best friend.
