The Gila Ridge Hawks are only a few games away from finishing the regular season and no doubt their eyeing the AIA powerpoints. They almost eyed them too closely before their contest at Dean Stout Ball Park against the upset minded Kings.
The Kings managed to keep the Hawks off the scoreboard in the first four innings before Kofa erupted in the bottom half of the fourth. First baseman Manny Camacho blasted a solo homerun to start things off for Kofa. Then, the momentum continued for the Kings as Kalani Mills drove in two more runs in the same inning. Kofa's four-run inning would be it for their offense on this night.
Gila Ridge responded by tying the game up in the top of the fifth and then taking the lead for good in the seventh. Gila Ridge's nail-biting victory keeps their playoff hopes alive and gets them their 19th win on the season.
