YPD has lifted the lockdowns at Yuma High School, Roosevelt Elementary School, and Fourth Avenue Jr. High School, following a hit-and-run. YPD is still investigating. We will have more details as soon as they become available.

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: YPD is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred at 1st Street and Madison Avenue. Two Hispanic females and three Hispanic males were seen getting out of the suspect vehicle and starting running. Officers say some weapons were found by the Gowan Company LLC building, 370 Main Street.
YPD started receiving phone calls from the public advising of a subject runn...ing toward Fourth Ave Jr. High School. Responding Police Officers were able to take him into custody. YPD is still looking for the two Hispanic females and two Hispanic males. One female is described as having blonde hair, about 5’6” petite wearing a white dress. The second female is described as having dark hair about 5’6” wearing dark sweat pants and a dark shirt.
YPD is still searching the area. The lockdowns at several local schools remain in place.

The Yuma Police Department tells News 11 it is investigating a hit and run accident in which the suspects fled into the area of Yuma High School.
YPD is currently conducting a search of the area and the following schools are on lock down Fourth Avenue Jr. High, Roosevelt, and Yuma High School.
