A Yuma man who led police on a foot chase after crashing into cars Saturday afternoon now faces several serious charges.

At 1:40 p.m. Saturday, a detective with the Yuma Police Department pulled over 28-year-old Marcos Medina. Medina briefly stopped but then quickly sped away.

Medina then nearly collided with a second patrol vehicle with two police officers inside.

Police said Medina fled from officers and lost control of his vehicle in the area of 2nd Ave. and 5th St.

That is when Medina collided with a parked passenger car and a parked motor scooter causing major damage to both vehicles.

He then fled on foot. Police caught up with Medina, who was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, before being taken to jail.

Medina faces several charges including aggravated assault on police, criminal damage, possession of dangerous drugs, aggravated DUI, endangerment, and reckless driving.

The Yuma Police Department encourages anyone with information on this case to contact Yuma PD at (928)783-4421 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
