PHOENIX (AP) — A woman charged with killing her lover in Arizona has concluded testifying for the week after a prosecutor hammered her over holes in her stories and repeated lies.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez began an aggressive line of questioning from the start as he opened his cross-examination of 32-year-old Jodi Arias on Thursday.

She faces the death penalty if convicted of first-degree murder in the 2008 death of 30-year-old Travis Alexander in his suburban Phoenix home.

She says the killing was in self-defense. Prosecutors say she killed Alexander in a jealous rage.

Arias initially denied any knowledge of Alexander's death, then later blamed it on masked intruders. She now says he attacked her and she was forced to fight for her life.

Arias is set to return to the witness stand Monday.
