Yuma Regional Medical Center was placed on lockdown at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday for about two hours, according to Shay Andres of YRMC's media relations.

Andres would not tell News 11 exactly why YRMC was placed on lockdown for security reasons, but that staff or a patient may have felt threatened.

During the lockdown, no one was allowed in or out.

No injuries were reported and no weapons were on the premise.

YRMC said they initiated the lockdown to prevent any harm to people in the hospital.

News 11 will bring you more details when they become available.
