An Imperial man is dead after a fight that started inside a nightclub in Imperial Saturday night.

Police responded around midnight to a call of a disturbance at the Kashmir night club on South Highway 86.

When police arrived, the club's security staff had detained the man, Daniel Romero, for alleged assault.

Imperial police say the man was unresponsive and injured.

Romero was taken to the El Centro Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities evacuated the nightclub to find witnesses, evidence, or any injured people.

No arrests have been made.
