POWAY, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 12-year-old student at a San Diego County middle school has been arrested for allegedly threatening via email to shoot a teacher and 23 classmates.

UT San Diego says (http://bit.ly/12hXjs1 ) the boy, who attends Poway's Twin Peaks Middle School, was taken into custody Saturday night after sheriff's deputies served a search warrant at his family's home.

The newspaper says several computers, rifles and handguns were seized. The student was admitted to a hospital for evaluation.

Officials say the email was sent Friday night to a school administrator who notified authorities the next morning.

There is no evidence that anyone else was involved with the threat.

In an email to parents, the school's principal said classes would resume Monday and called the threat "an isolated incident."
