At 8:30 p.m. Saturday night Yuma County Sheriff’s Office officials served a search warrant for 2125 E. 14th Street. Upon entering the residence in question, Yuma County Narcotics Task Force Officers, along with Border Patrol agents, seized 16 grams of methamphetamine. Agents also seized drug paraphernalia during a search of the house.
Jensen Edward Thomas was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center.
Yuma County Sheriff’s Alfonso Zavala says the arrest was made possible by a tip from an anonymous caller, and after several weeks of investigation issued the search warrant that led to the arrest.
Zavala encourages the public to contact local law enforcement if they witness anything suspicious, because even the smallest detail can help.
“Every call that we get we work off of, and it might be something that we are already working on, but the more information we have the better,” he says. If you’ve got license plates, if you’ve got descriptions of vehicles, if you’ve got descriptions of people coming in and out of residences, that always helps.”
Thomas is being charged with possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.
