YHS Under Brief Lockdown
The Yuma Police Department tells News 11 it received a call of a student possibly carrying a gun at Yuma High School around 12:28 p.m. Thursday. Officers responded to the school, but after conducting their search they were not able to find a gun, or any other kind of threatening situation on campus.
Yuma High School, Mary Elizabeth Post Elementary School, and Fourth Avenue Jr. High School were all under a brief lockdown. Sergeant Leanne Worthen with YPD says the lockdown was lifted about 15 minutes later.
School resource officers are now looking into the case.
