The regular season is winding down for the Kofa Lady Kings, who are hoping to improve their upcoming playoff seeding after a recent tough loss to Basha.
Kofa would be in for tough late season test at home against Cibola. Even though the Lady Kings offense would control the ball and the pace of the match most of the way, they wouldn't get on the scoreboard until a breakaway goal by Brianna Gonzalez with 17 minutes left in the entire match. Teammate Cynthia Samaniego would get the assist on the very play that would take the Lady Kings over the top and get them to 14 and 3 on the season.
The Lady Kings 1-0 win gives them much needed late season momentum. Kofa will finish their regular season out at home against arch rival Yuma. The Lady Kings dominated them last week at Doan Field.
