Yuma Unemployment Rate Down

The Yuma Private Industry Council which helps job seekers says it is the winter season that is helping the rate go down.
Patrick Goetz with the Yuma Private Industry Council says now that the agricultural industry is in full swing more of those positions are available. As well as hospitality jobs that are in high demand now that winter visitors are back.
Goetz says less layoffs have also helped. He tells News 11 many local jobs that are available are highly qualified positions.
Goetz says schools like Arizona Western College and the University of Arizona are working closely on new programs that would help students find local jobs in the long run.
