The Yuma Police Department has identified the man who was found dead near a church over the weekend.

Police said the victim is Roberto Vasquez, 58,. Vasquez was found Saturday, January 5 at about 9:30 a.m. near the First United Methodist Church in Yuma.

Police have ruled the death as a homicide. Officers are still on the search for possible suspects.

Officer Joe Franklin with YPD said right now they do not know very much about this victim.

"All indications lead us to believe that he is homeless. I'm not exactly sure how the identification was made...the detectives are still investigating it at this time." Franklin said.
