A smuggling tunnel was discovered Sunday in the Mexican border city of Mexicali. The tunnel was partially completed, about 100 feet long and 33 feet underground. It also included ventilation and lighting systems.
Investigators found the tunnel after receiving an anonymous tip. Mexican cartels are typically behind the tunnels.
The Drug Enforcement Agency reports that in the past decade, 50 cross-border tunnels have been found in California and 89 in Arizona.
