Jesus Gonzalez was found guilty for attempted murder, and assult with a deadly weapon.
Deputy District Attorney Jeffery Brookers explains the hard work it took for the jury to come up with a final decision: "We waited all day, they deliberated all day, they watched the video--which shows part of the crime--over and over again, probably about 10 or 15 times."
The attack happened in December of 2010. The staff at the Hard Luck Tavern refused to let defendant Jesus Gonzalez and his two friends into the bar because it was afterhours.
This led Gonzalez to throw a rock through the back door. This was when the owner--Lance Hicks--shouted something at gonzalez and they began to fight.
The end result: 15 stab wounds, ultimately paralyzing Hicks.
