Pareja es rescatada de canal en Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. – Un agente de la Patrulla Fronteriza rescató a un hombre y una mujer de ahogarse en el All-American Canal.

Los agentes dicen que la pareja entró al agua en un intento de entrar en los EE.UU. ilegalmente a 18 millas al este del puerto de entrada del centro de la ciudad. Los operadores del sistema de vigilancia de vídeo vieron a la pareja en el canal el martes por la mañana.

Los agentes dicen que el hombre estaba tirando de la mujer a través del canal con una cámara de aire como dispositivo de flotación, pero comenzaron a ser atrapados en una planta hidroeléctrica.

El oficial entonces se lanzó al agua y rescató a los dos mexicanos. Según agentes, los dos fueron evaluados por el agente, quien determinó que ninguno necesitaria mayor atención médica.

La pareja será procesada para ser removidos de los EE.UU.
