Native brings more than 130 jobs to Yuma

YUMA, Ariz.-

Monday was the grand opening for Native Grill & Wings in Gomez Plaza and many wing fans came out for 21 different flavors of wings. “We got 21 different flavors of wings, 32 televisions, we’re ready to roll,” says managing director for the Yuma location Andy Gage. “Things are going great, we are packed out here today everybody is having a great time. Lots of food, lots of beers.”

This is the second, “Native” as many customers refer to it,  to open in Yuma. The building is sporting the new modern design of the restaurant chain. Gage says, “Actually, we were here a long time ago, but we are back and bigger and better.” One customer says he likes it compared to the other locations in Phoenix, “I like this a lot more. I just like the vibe.”

However, the wing stop is not only bringing a new variety of flavors to the community but jobs as well. Gage says 130 jobs were posted and each one was filled, “We hired 125 employees and five managers for this location.” The jobs didn’t stop there. Local companies were used for lumber and cement to build the restaurant from the ground up. Gage says, “We use as many local folks and supplies as we can possibly find.”

Another restaurant will open in Gomez Plaza. Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers will open in October.
