YUMA, Ariz. – Governor Doug Ducey will deliver the ‘State of the State’ address Monday at Arizona Western College.
John Courtis with the Chamber of Commerce says Governor Ducey delivered his State of the State address last month in Phoenix but now he’s coming to present it “Yuma style”.
Courtis said, “He was here last year and brings us facts about Yuma, it’s pretty personalized.”
Ducey has a full day packed with meeting members of the Yuma community. He will tour San Luis High School and Southwest Junior High School where he will meet with student leaders and learn more about ‘Ready Now Yuma’.
Courtis says we are very close to having the Joint Technical Education District (JTED) funds restored. He wants to hear about education for people not going to a degree program.
Courtis said, “There’s lot of young men and women who want to go that route. The graduation rate for JTED is over 90 percent.”
Ducey will be visiting the Yuma Community Food Bank and meeting with Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls and city council members. Ducey also plans on meeting all of the sheriffs in Arizona.
