FNL Preview: Southwest Eagles

EL CENTRO, Calif. – Since the controversial departure of Joe Conner back in 2013, John Mitosinka has elevated the Southwest Eagles football program from pretender to contender in just two years; capped off by a 9-3 overall record last season and a Division 4 playoff quarterfinal appearance.

This time around, the Eagles return a trio of talented  play makers in quarterback Cameron Jungers and running backs Tyler Saikhon and Justin Cordova; who should be a scoring threat to opposing defenses this fall.

The defense will return most of it’s unit from 2015, especially in the linebacker and secondary positions that forced 15 interceptions last season.

The Eagles are hoping to make a serious run at a potential Imperial Valley League title.
