Deadline to register for Primary Election is Monday

EL CENTRO, Calif. – California voters are running out of time to register for the upcoming Primary Election in June. The last day to register is Monday May, 23rd and according Registrar of Voters, Debbie Porter, people can do so using three different methods.

“They can come to our office in person, they can go to any library or city hall and pick up a registration card and mail it in here as long as it is postmarked by the 23rd. And they can also go online to registertovote.ca.gov and they can register to vote online.”

California has more delegates than any other state and that means the presidential candidate winner will take most of the delegates. For statewide office the top two candidates determined by voters will advance to the general election in November.

People already registered to vote should expect a ballot in the mail, if you are registered non-partisan you can also cross over or switch to a democratic ballot, and american independent ballot, or a libertarian ballot. Those are the only three parties participating in the cross-over voting.
