Amberly’s Place brings awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month

YUMA, Ariz. – April is child abuse prevention month. Amberly’s Place will be placing billboards around Yuma County at City Hall, on 3 E and 32nd Street and on the freeway.

The message is ‘Protecting children is everyone’s business’.

Amberly’s Place marketing director Trevor Umphress says, “It’s our responsibility as community members to protect our children. If you see something, report it.”

Umphress said, “It’s our job to be aware of our surroundings and report something that looks unusual.”

Umphress said, “One in four girls and one in six boys will most likely be molested before their 18th birthday.”

Amberly’s Place will be putting up pinwheel gardens around Yuma county to bring awareness to child abuse prevention.

Umphress said, “We want to get the word out that this is preventable.”
