YUMA, Ariz. – A woman was arrested for animal cruelty after deputies found 41 cats and two dogs inside her home.

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) deputies say, Jeanne M. Pryor, 77, was arrested Monday morning.

Deputies say neighbors made several calls to YCSO to report Pryor had been sleeping outside her home between her driveway and yard. Callers also reported a foul smell coming from the house.

YCSO deputies served a warrant at about 9 a.m. at Pryor’s home where they found the animals including four dead cats. Deputies say the entire home was covered in cat feces and urine. The ceilings, counter tops and cupboards were covered in cobwebs, spiders and bugs.

Pryor was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center.

The animals were taken to the Humane Society of Yuma for treatment.
