2-year-old girl dies after hit-and-run; ECPD looking for suspect

EL CENTRO, Calif. – Police are looking for the driver who hit and killed a 2-year-old girl.

Officers say the incident happened around 8 p.m. Saturday in the area of Waterman Avenue and Aurora Drive.

The girl was flown to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego where she died from her injuries, according to an El Centro Police Department (ECPD) statement released Sunday morning.

ECPD says the driver was likely behind the wheel of a low-profile car that may have damage to the front end.

Police did not give any other details about the driver or the car.
