15-year-old girl found shot to death

PHOENIX (AP) – Phoenix police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in the shooting death of a teenage girl at a party.

Officer James Holmes says authorities were called to a home near 41st and Glendale avenues around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers found 15-year-old Sinclair Sandoval with a gunshot wound and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Holmes says between 40 and 60 people had been attending a party at the house.

All the guests were between the age of 15 and 21.

Police do not know if alcohol or illegal drugs were present at the party.

Holmes did not say what motivated the shooting.

The suspect’s name will not be released due to his age.

He is being detained as a juvenile.
